One of the most common misconceptions about the RCMS BIM product offerings is that our business is a software offering. In reality we use the industry leading software products to build out a BIM for you – software solutions such as Autodesk Revit®, Bentley® 3D BIM solutions, Solibri® for clash detection, Navisworks® for clash and 4D (BIM shown by the project milestone timeline).

But one reason why people do think we are a software company is that we have developed what has been characterized as the construction industry’s largest building components library. This library is the assembly of families of construction elements i.e., innumerous wall types, windows/fenestration, complex MEP, structural elements, etc. We have spent the last 7 years and $2mill+ building this critical foundation to allow us to create a more accurate BIM and therefore most closely reflect the actual building being constructed. This investment in our library means we find more issues that would otherwise create RFI’s in the field, and that our QTO for back checking sub-contractors is tight.

Our BIM teams are construction people:  Architects, Engineers with dozens of years of industry experience, not REVIT® ‘gear heads’. We know how a building really gets built and our value extends to modeling of what can be constructed, not just how to drive Revit®.
