How was BIM used?

Working under GSA acceptance criteria, RCMS perfomrd 2D to 3D BIM conversion services on the 100% CD's for Architectural, Structural Framing and Foundation, Mechanical HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical and Fire Protection.  The GSA also utilized multi-category Quantity Take-Off reports, as well as a 4D/5D analysis (construction sequencing), which helped control costs during procurement and construction.

  • Using BIM on this project resulted in millions of dollars in savings during both the design and construction process
  • The GSA will also avoid further investment on any future BIM archiving, as they willb e able to host the FM model delivered at close-out as a facilities management tool moving forward
